Spirit Chronicles Season 2 release date: Seirei Gensouki Season 2 Predication
The season 1 finale of Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles, episode 12, is scheduled to launch through the Crunchyroll streaming platform on Monday, September 20th.
At the time of writing, Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles has not been officially renewed for season 2 by TMS Entertainment, the production company behind the anime.
However, fans of the series should be hopeful that that Haruto and his companions will make a return in a sequel season thanks to the availability of source material.
Season 1 episode 12 is expected to adapt up until roughly volume 5 of the original light novel series by Yuri Kitayama.
The good news is that as of September 2021, a total of 20 volumes have been published in Japanese, meaning there could be enough source material to produce up to four anime seasons!
The series should also prove popular enough with fans to merit a renewal, despite some underwhelming reviews. Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles is currently scoring a 3.8/5 on Crunchyroll, 7.6/10 on IMDB and 7.14/10 on MyAnimeList, the latter of which is considered ‘Good’ with over 33,000 reviews.
One user wrote that the series was “another generic isekai anime that doesn’t do anything new, besides offering the same cliché patterns that most of these programs already offer,” whilst another stated that “this anime is what I live for, I’m so happy right now. Need a season 2,3,4,5 asap.”
Time will tell whether the series’ domestic and international performance will be enough for TMS Entertainment to invest in a second season.
Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 2 release date predictions
As of the last update, TMS Entertainment or any company related to the production of the anime has not officially confirmed the Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 2 release date. Nor has the production of a Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles sequel been announced.

In the meantime, it’s possible to speculate about when, or if, the Seirei Gensouki Season 2 premiere date will occur in the future.
The Spirit Chronicles reviews have been good but not great for an isekai anime. The premise follows the standard isekai formula thanks to bus/train-kun but with the twist that the main protagonist and Latifa retain their memories of their new host bodies. The inner turmoil caused by Rio remaining the dominant personality was another interesting twist on the formula.
The opening story arc is fairly generic, which makes it difficult to hook audiences that have grown numb to the isekai genre. It also doesn’t help that the anime’s first season only adapted what’s essentially a prologue to the main part of the overall story. The first three light novels are considered the weakest part of the series yet they comprise 9 out of 12 episodes.
